I am excited to announce that I have moved my practice to the law firm of Dysart Taylor Cotter McMonigle & Montemore, P.C.
In 1996, Jonathan Gilmore made a decision that would significantly alter his life, and career, for the better. On a cold day in March, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a legal specialist in the J.A.G. (Judge Advocate General) Corps. From 1996 to 2002, Jonathan provided legal support to Army attorneys throughout the region in the areas of estate planning, claims processing, and litigation support. It was in this arena that he made the decision to one day practice law in the civilian world.
A Dean's List student in law school at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law, Jonathan sought out programs that allowed him to solve real problems for real clients. During tax season, he worked with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and prepared tax returns for low-income taxpayers. Over the course of multiple semesters, Jonathan also assisted clients with federal tax controversies as a working student in the Kansas City Tax Clinic. Additionally, he helped individuals with new business start-ups while working at the UMKC Entrepreneurial Legal Services Clinic.
Since 2009, Jonathan's primary areas of practice have been in the fields of estate planning and administration, business formation and operation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, tax planning, and tax controversy. Jonathan is licensed to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, and the U.S. Tax Court.
Jonathan lives in Prairie Village, Kansas with his wife, Tressie, and their two daughters. In addition to spending time with his wonderful family, he spends his free time hunting, fishing, camping, and honing his archery skills. All personal portraits on this site were provided by Classic Tressie LLC.
